TOPIC: Is there a way to override the res setting?
Is there a way to override the res setting? 12 years, 10 months ago #367
I recently had my 24" monitor crap out. I connected my backup systems 19" monitor and several games would no longer come up. Warlords IV was one.
Once I got another 24" monitor it ran fine as did the other games. The issues was the games were set to run at 1990 res, not sure about Warlords. The new monitor could not run at those resolutions and the desktop defaulted to 1440. After the new monitor was connected the desktop defaulted to 1990 again and all the games were fine. Is there any ini or some place to force the game to use the desktop, rather than use the value the game was last set to use? |

Vmxa,
Warlords IV uses registry settings for the resolution. So you need to run regedit and change the resolution settings there if you downgrade your monitor again. KGB |

Anyway to override it to, say, 1920 x 1080? Even 1600 x1200 would be an improvement and I've seen some people talk about this option, but I only see 3 options for the resolution (1200 x 900 being the highest).

Sleepy,
I've never gotten the game to allow 1600x1200 in the resolution options. I have to edit the registry to get that resolution. Assuming your monitor is capable of 1600x1200, you can edit the registry as well using 'regedit'. This thread talks more in detail about manually setting it www.warlorders.com/forum?func=view&catid=7&id=589#593 KGB |
