TOPIC: Has it really been that long?!?!
Has it really been that long?!?! 5 years, 4 months ago #3605
Hi everyone! For those that don't remember me, I am the guy that came up with the original "warlorders" website... and then completely destroyed the site accidentally whilst handing it over to KGB! YAY ME!
So... just thought I would see what KGB did with the old site, I didn't figure that there would be any activity anymore... BOY, was I wrong! So, is Steve still kicking out quality games from down under? Has anyone thought of porting DLR over to Android? And more importantly: Are Hugh and Clark still dominating everyone on Case's Ladder? (WOW! That was a trip down a dusty memory lane!!) I was just cleaning out an old thumb drive and found a "warlorders" folder with a (semi-)backup of the website circa 2010. I was reading Hugh's '10 Commandments' and my 'didjanos' guides and getting all nostalgic. Good times, good times... |

So, is Steve still kicking out quality games from down under? He's been busy since 2015 putting out Gems of War, a match 3 game for PC, mobile, XBox, Switch, and PS4. |

Hi Woog!
I'm not sure if Case's Ladder is still active, but people are still playing DLR on Molotov's Lastcitadel.ru website. And many moved to Warbarons. |

Hello wooger. Can any of your backup be restored here somehow? I recall posting all sorts of good stuff before everything was lost. Specifically, how to play WL-II on XP. If the forum is basically the same, I think the post should be able to be imported.
Either way, it is always good to see the original folks poking around. |

VVooger,
Great to see you stop by and say hello. That's definitely a trip down memory lane. No one is going to port DLR to any place. Once the 1.02 code base was lost that ended any chance of the game ever getting ported anyplace. As much as we all love the game it's 20 years old now and the players that played it are all in a different phase of life (45-60 years old) and likely not playing nearly as many games as they used to (I know I don't). Android (phone based) strategy games look quite different that DLR interface wise and practically none are head-2-head live like DLR was. That's still the realm of PC/XBox. KGB P.S. Don't be a stranger and stay away so long next time. And please make sure your email address is up to date in case I need to ever direct email you. |

I am 40... *lol* and still play as often as possible. Only the "night sessions" tend to come to an end 'cause I hardly make it out of bed to get to work I bet there are so many of us who'd love to play such games again maybe with better graphics but the same gameplay. |

Here is a link I used to learn how to make DOSBox open in full screen mode:
I have not tried it yet but am confident it will work fine. If not, I'll come back and say so. CYA! |
