Actually, Darklord's Lair isn't completely dead (since I am not dead). It's been a pretty busy year for me. I was finishing my Ph.D. and just didn't have much time for Warlords. 99% of it is not posted on this site because it would take forever to put it up in some kind of useful format. If you are looking for something specific let me know because I may already have a copy of it.

I was considering springing for the ROH or DLR official guide to see if there's any background in there about how the AI works, which units it selects for stacks, etc. I don't suppose you ever got around to scanning it?
