Do comrade Warlords have any interest in seeing W3 DLR Official Strategy guide by Prima Games scanned and presented here?

Yes, I do realize it isn't much accurate (considering units/heroes community updates) but it is still very interesting reading, it's well written and it's a valuable artifact anyway for a Warlords fan (as I am). I look at it not through practical but through esthetical and memorial eye

So, if no one wants to share the touch to the glorious Past, I will cherish it alone, in the deepest and darkest dungeon, my preciousss...

I didn't realize it was a large tome. I thought it was just a few pages.

I googled it and read that it contains walk throughs for all the campaigns including where all the items are etc. Those walk throughs are worth scanning in and posting here on the website because they are still relevant.

The heroes/armies/strategies/campaign & army editor aren't worth scanning.

Yes, I just thought about it myself yesternight while reading campaign walkthroughs (since campaigns don't use community updates).

Is there uploaded anywhere a copy of the manual for DLR? I know that you have the strategy guide, but I'm looking for more basic information that others might take for granted. I've already read all of the online stuff, but there's nothing like a manual

AFAIK, there was no separate manual for DLR, only for RoH.

Well, for now I still found no time and place to scan Official Guide, sorry, but I finally got to begin work on a kind of manual or maybe Tome of Knowledge for W3DLR (just like there it is Tome of Knowledge for Warlords Battlecry 1). It will be based on every possible source of information, taking as example the famous Granite Golem's guide for DLR known as Knight's Manual. It's written in Russian and now I suppose it exists only in archived copy on my PC because Darklord's Lair site where this guide was presented is out of order, hosting is went bankrupt, and lord Mod3M that ran this site told me in chat in a Russian social network that he no longer has interest in Warlords and everything about it. And there is no way to get in touch with Granite Golem himself.

So I decided to compile every crumb of information in a voluminous digital tome named The Book of Darklords. And it will include everything useful from Official Guide, of course, as long as every kind of charts, statistics for units, heroes, combat rules, tips, secrets and so on, et cetera. It will be in Russian at first but I plan to translate it in English later.

By my very cautious estimations, English version may appear not later than 2019 New Year.

I also have a lot of old archived information on the game (tips, strategy guides, write ups done by players etc) from all the years of Warlorders, Dancing Thief, Katana's Man's, Mod3M, Granite Golem etc.

99% of it is not posted on this site because it would take forever to put it up in some kind of useful format. If you are looking for something specific let me know because I may already have a copy of it.

It's wonderful you are making such a guide. It's just too bad it wasn't done 10 years ago when the game was still being somewhat played.

P.S. If I look up Granite's website in the internet archive I can find examples of the site from various years. Here's a 2012 snapshot of the DLR page in English (I have everything on this page so if you see anything from any of his pages over the years I may have it)

Archive.org is blocked in Russia for some reason (hypocrite governmental war against piracy or what?) but we, the honest citizens and experienced Warlords players, have many various tools to outflank it, don't we?

Yes, I can see Darklord's Lair in all of its former glory via Archive, 2017 January being the latest possible date for a Russian page version (Granite Golem guide exists only in Russian version, alas). But I made backup of literally everything from this site, Russian and English pages alike so it doesn't matter much.

I'd be very interested to see what you have Maybe you'd find some spare time (and wish) to zip and upload your treasures somewhere?

I do understand that there is a meagre score of people around the globe who still play Warlords (whatever version it be, from 1 to 4). And it's a pity that I met this game serie so late, especially Warlords 3 DLR. But I still want to pay homage of sort, and maybe have a little seed of hope sown by compiling everything possible info about this masterpiece.

Gaming market degrades rapidly, I think, and it seems soon there will be no more PC games as we knew 'em, only online and mobile stuff that I despise heartily.
I feel that it's time to try to preserve everything valuable and truly Good and Old.
