TOPIC: Warlords V
Warlords V 12 years, 1 month ago #723
Just checking in and wondering if there will ever be a WARLORDS V. I loved Warlords 3 DLR the best and all you need is an update on graphics and a few tweaks and u got a great game.
What are all the other addicts up to? Is there any other game thats as great? Or everyone quit gaming and started reading or something? GreenKhan |

I play CIV 5 once in a while and have it still it installed. Tried playing many other games to quench my thirst for warlords, but nothing seems to work

GreenKhan,
Been a long time. Welcome back. Not sure what time zone you are in but I know guys meet on BattleHQ on the weekends (Fri/Sat night) for games if you are looking to knock the rust off your sword. There are plenty of PBEM games available if you want try those. And of course many players are playing at Warbarons. KGB |

Would you be so kind to send me some links to some of your games? I have tried Warbarons once and it was great. But I'd love to get to known some others of the same type... Thanks a lot and Greets from Austria!
Any hope concerning Warlords 5?? |

Wargul,
When I said there were plenty of email games available, I meant emails games of DLR, as in lots of players playing DLR by email. Not different games similar to Warlords. The links on the left (Spin off Projects) are the only similar type games I know other than: Battle for Wesnoth: www.wesnoth.org/ Colossus(The old board game Titan) colossus.sourceforge.net/ KGB |

I did not care too much for warbarons. The + is allot of players.

When I've had enough time to play, I spend my time with TDU2. Sometimes I play Warlord 4 on my laptop (only single player, because of my limited time - thanks for four kids...)

I recommend The Battle for Wesnoth, primarily because it is explicitly designed to be highly user-customizable. You can very easily create not only new units, scenarios and campaigns, but also add new abilities/spells which are not part of the core game. It also allows for branching campaigns and complex in-scenario events which occur when specific conditions are met and which may be dependent on player choices (something noticeably lacking from DLR!)
Customization does involve learning WML, a purpose-designed markup language, but frankly if I can figure it out, anybody can! There's also a very large and active community surrounding the game (over 20,000 forum members, many of whom actively develop new game content). It's a free download, so it's well worth looking into. That sounded a bit more like an advert than I intended... |
